The new single from Scotty Newlands is "Now That You're Gone," an up-tempo pop track perfect for AC and Hot AC stations alike.
Scotty's previous single "Don't Wanna Get Over You," released in January of this year, scored impressive airplay and chart numbers at a number of stations across Canada. His previous CD, released in 2009, entitled New Roads, featured nine original songs and showcased his unique vocal and writing talents.
In 2010, Scotty was chosen to record a tribute song and video for the Canadian Forces and Emergency Service Personnel entitled "These Are Our Heroes". Both the single and video received favourable airplay, especially during Remembrance Day ceremonies across the country.
It should be noted that Scotty is an active member of the Canadian Forces and currently serves as a Public Affairs representative for the Army Reserve soldiers in the Greater Toronto Area. Due to his past service for the country and his amazing vocal talents, Scotty has been granted the esteemed honour of performing the Canadian and American national anthems at a number of high profile sporting events, including Toronto Maple Leafs and Raptors games at the Air Canada Centre, Toronto Blue Jays and Argonaut games at the Rogers Centre and also at the 2009 Bridgestone NHL Winter Classic held at Wrigley Field in Chicago IL.
If this wasn't enough for any one person to handle, Scotty is also an accomplished professional actor who has played a number of leading roles in theatre, film, television and commercials.
"Now That You're Gone" was produced by JUNO Award winning producer Greg Kavanagh at Kavasound in Toronto and is four parts CanCon.
